Recomendations on this kind of guitar

Hey guys
So here's the deal. Right now I own a Jackson DK2 (floyded) and an Epiphone Dot. So basically, I'm looking for a 2 humbucker, hardtail guitar (so I can mess around with tunings easily), solid body, and I basically play all tha way from the blues to metal (I just don't quite feel it right with the Dot ). Any recomendations? I know this question can have a wide range of answers, but maybe some of you have experiences with a kind of guitar with the characterisitics I'm looking for. I'M NOT too much into Les Pauls by the way

VERY easy...Jackson Dominion. Can cover tons of tonal options, has TOM bridge and locking tuners. Extremely versatile guitar...only, it's not solid body.

Maybe check out an SLSMG if you NEED solid body, but I don't think you'd be disappointed with the Dominion.

That is the exact reason I got my SL2HT. I am sure that there is a cheaper way to go about it.

the import hamer archtop guitars are pretty nice. of course, the usa hamer studio or the usa arch top is better. that guitar will get you what you need.

Well thanks for your replies!! I've always dreamed of a Firebird, but with hums (the Gibson one has these minibuckers I dont like and the Epi... well it's an Epi) Maybe I'll give it a try with the Warmoth bodies... and btw the SLS Jackson kick some serious ass, I'm considering that one too!!!

All can be had in a Hardtail version (TOM or FT6) with 2 humbuckers.
And if you get the active electronics, you'll have 12 different pickups combinations.
And if you add the piezos on top of that, you even get more combinations.

That's a lot of versatility.

Does solid-body mean neck-through? Jackson SLSMG seems to fit your criteria. Comes with EMGs, but you can always swap those out for the passives of your choice.

No. Solid-body means just what it sounds like...a solid piece of wood (or several pieces glued together). Rather than a hollow-body or semi-hollow body (chambered) where there is a fully or partially hollowed out core with a top peice of wood like a cap. Has nothing to do with the neck being bolt-on, neck thru or set neck.

That's what I thought but other replies made it seem like you wanted neck-through only.

If you like your DK2, why not get a DK2T? Same guitar but with a TOM instead of a Floyd.

Check out PRS. You could score a new SE version relatively cheaply or maybe luck into a used USA-made PRS for not too much more.
