What kind of pickups are those? I've never seen one with so many pole pieces before.

Bought new from carvin, just a little over $1000, came with a vintage G&G case. You can spec these out all day for less than $1000 if you want. And they sell bolt plus kits now, too ... something to send to Mike Learn for painting perhaps lol

Ive owned two carvin dc727's (neckthrough), one purchased new from carvin and one off ebay. Both excellent guitars. Carvin is a great company to deal with as well. Every time i have taken one to the local guitar shop (i live in the mountains where anything that isnt fender or martin is considered junk) and pull it out of the case i get the "oh a carvin, thos suck, better hope the neck never needs adjusted blah blah blah". Then they pick it up and play it for about 10 seconds and suddenly it's "wow this is a pretty nice guitar, you had this custom made for 1200$?! are you sure?" lol

Awe crap now I'm probably gonna start pricing out Carvins again. That's so slick looking. I might order a 7-string version of that as a grad gift for myself.

Awesome! Can't go wrong with white/gold/maple. Here's my vintage white '02 SC90. It's now got an extra volume and tone in place of the coil tap switches, DiMarzio Super D and Super 2 pups, and a DiMarzio "Petrucci" toggle switch to get the inner coils on in the middle position.

This is the one I had made. Ended up selling it last year. Couldn't justify maintaining two 7-strings when I barely used either, and When it came down to keeping up maintenance on just one I picked the fixed bridge. lol. This one is all mahogany neckthrough, tung oiled neck. the rest you can see in the pic. The one I kept is swamp ash, natural finish, 5 piece neck, fixed bridge. Love them both.
