This one is all mahogany neckthrough, tung oiled neck. the rest you can see in the pic. The one I kept is swamp ash, natural finish, 5 piece neck, fixed bridge. Love them both.

That's sweet! I've been wanting a DC727 for years now, will probably pull the trigger on one soon. My SC90 is swamp ash. I've been thinking of swamp ash or maple for the 7-string, not sure yet, but I'll probably only get it with one pickup and maybe a mahogany neck.
I also had a DC400 that was alder with maple top and 5-piece maple/walnut neck that I eventually traded for an alder DC120 12-string and eventually sold off.

Steve that guitar is a work of art. I hope your other one makes people weep when they behold it. I wouldn't have been able to part with it.
I only need one more guitar.

Appalachian mountains, west "by god" virginia.

I guess it depends on your taste. The other dc727 is not nearly as flashy as that one, but personally I love natural finish with 5 piece neck. Its like racing stripes on a nice clean sports car. The blue one was "otherworldly" for clean channel, but got a tad muddy doing lowB death metal. The one I kept (swamp ash) is brighter and much easier to hold for a few hours. lol.

If you are going to order that one I would definitely recommend not getting all mahogany. Dont get me wrong, mahogany has a great tone, but having two 727's at the same time I can say that the swamp ash was better in every way other than clean, and the swamp still has an immaculate clean. The all mahog also weighed about as much as four of the swamp. I would also go for the tung oiled neck option. Thats what I loved the most about both was not having painted necks.

As far as selling it, it was hard, but I was barely playing either of them. My previous band wrote a lot of low B. When I started with the new band I didnt need the 7's anymore, but wanted a mahogany 6 with a fixed bridge so I sold the blue carvin (for only 300$ less than i paid for it =-0) and got an ltd ax-2e, put some livewires in it and still had money left.

You will definitely get alot of "bang for your buck" with carvin. I mean the blue one above cost me about 1250$ built and shipped with hsc. That a dc727+ all mahog, tung oil neck, quilt top, abalone blocks, floyd copy, locking tuners, and strap locks. How much would any other custom shop charge for a strat style 7string with the same options?

Fantastic looking guitar. I've had a bolt plus for the last four years and it has been the guitar I play most often.
