Looks awesome, love the lemons. I love the traditional looks and rock tone of LPs. Unfortunately, my hands don't like how they feel or play. Nothwithstanding my hangups, very cool guitars anyway. And that one looks extra sweet. Congrats.

You can also try presets, I think you have a tungsten light in your room so try tungsten setting or try something else until you get it right.
I really suck with a camera but here is another attempt with outside light.

In the house it looks an amber yellow with dusty brown edges. The flames look really good, like gold in the light.

Much better pics outside! And we get to see the security system next to the guitar in one of the pics too...

Beautiful guitar Don. The color is really outstanding and the flame is prominent, but not too in your face. That being said, I like fatter, wavy flames that border on quilts. The chambered RI's are great guitars, and I like the weight of the chambered Lesters overall. Enjoy that baby!!!!

Yeah, I don't know what's up wth these Cloud 9's. I didn't think they show up in mass dealers. The Sam Ash I picked it up in Nashville had two - this and a washed cherry. This one caught my eye as soon as I walked in the door. It looks like an R9 / R0 top (something out of BOTB), yet it was 1/2 the price. The tone of this one also got me more than the washed cherry one. I knew as soon as I strummed it that it was going home with me no matter what.

The amps in Sam Ass didn't help much. I could get fantastic clean tones, but everything they had with higher gain sucked. They had a TSL60 through a questionalble cab, a cheap newer Marshall 100 MV?, a DSL into a crappy cab. It wasn't just this guitar, the flamed Charvel ProMod sounded like crap as well. On my visit 2 weeks prior, they had a purple Vintage Modern 2x12 but it was gone.

At home with my rig it sounds fantastic. It's a keeper.

Well it doesn't look like a Historic, is it a Standard? What's the matter with it?

I have 5 LP's now. Standards sounds good, but Historics are...Historics.

And I love my Standard. It's a 2002 Chevron Lightburst. Sounds great from Def Leppard up to Metallica.

RR's are great too. I have two RR1s and an RR24M. The RR24M is my newest and is very nice.

Really, there are so many nice guitars out there, it's hard to keep from buying them all LOL!

Hey Don...I'm sorry if you already told us...I skimmed the thread and didn't see though...what model is this exactly? I had something that looked really similar...except the pickups were not covered. It was called a LP "Traditional Pro"...and as far as I knew, only Guitar Center and Musician's Friend sold them. It was un-chambered...so it was quite heavy...the neck had a pretty fat profile...and it did have the traditional pick guard. I ended up taking it back (within the 30 day exchange period)...for some reason, I couldn't keep it in tune...and it just didn't sound right. I think I just got a bum guitar. So I exchanged it and spent a few hundred more...for a 2008 LP Standard...it comes with a pick guard...but not installed. So no holes..and you get to see that magnificent top. I have the most classic of all...the heritage cherry sunburst. Although...I will say..the 'iced tea' and 'tobacco burst' are stunning as well.

I think you have a beautiful guitar man. I think all Les Pauls (of higher quality) are beautiful...and I don't care what anyone says. They are the quintessential electric guitars. But I have to say...the thing that really pisses me off the most are the comments that the new LP's aren't up to snuff. Let me tell you...I've owned older, used Les Pauls, and my 2008 LP Standard is the finest instrument I've ever owned..hands down. It sounds amazing before it's even plugged in. Plug it in and it's magic. Gibson has always been at the forefront of electric guitar innovation....and the traditionalists will always bash anything new. But I know better...and so do a lot of people...because Gibson is selling 2008 Standards faster than anything ever before it. The 'robot' guitars are amazing...oh..because they're new or "gimicky" they suck, right? Give me a break.

Anyway...sorry to go on a rant. Nice guitar man..enjoy it!
