Ran Guitars Prices + other cheap custom guitar makers?

I'm looking into getting a custom guitar made for me. I was thinking of Ran guitars, since I've heard good things of them, and also many of my favrouite bands play those guitars. How are their prices? I live in the UK, so please take into account the Euro (Ran is in Poland) to Pound Sterling exchange. There seems to be nothing about their pricing system on the website.

Also, if these are expensive, (I cannot pay more than £1,500 at the moment), can anyone reccomend a good quality custom maker who can make good metal guitars to me? Country is not important.

You can't get a custom for less than 1,500 euros.

Ran have a custom order you can fill out, and they'll give you a price quote.

These guys are UK based and do a bunch of Charvel style axes..... I love the Eat Em and Smile graphic!
they would do a decent basic one for around 1500.

Carvin's prices aren't the same in Europe...Too many people wanted guitars shipped to stores so Carvin decided to deal with distributors, which jacked the prices up.

What do you consider cheap? Just curious.

Try and stay in the UK if you can. It will keep prices down and keep a bit of trade in the country.
There are lots of good builders in the U.K. that can and will build you anything you want.

Nocturne looks good, Crimson, EVE, Blackmachine, Palm Bay, Legra, Stormshadow, Jaydee... etc.
Have a nose around. Try some out at shows etc.

Would it not be great to drive to where the builder was and get your hands on a guitar as it is being made in case you thing the neck is a bit thick for example ? Have the color lightened, darkened and have control over your build as it is being built ?

And Jem is kidding on the commission check ! I have one of his guitars and it is top notch wood and build.
