Never played one but they are the LP copy for Fernandes guitars. Some were made at some of the great japanese factories like Tokai, fujigen and Matsumoku.

I own a black Burny LP Custom and will NEVER part with it. One of THEE nicest guitars I've ever owned, including several real LPs and an Epi. I've never ever designated any one guitar as my "main guitar", and have owned tons, until this one. Saw an article not too long ago, where Duff McKagen plays two of these in his side-band, and loves em, too.

Be careful as there is a distinction between older and new Burnys. The older ones have received rave reviews from many people for value/quality. The newer ones are an advanced beginner to middle grade guitar. I tried one unplugged for a couple minutes last time I was in Asia - it was supposed to be a Mahogany body, but it was really light. I asked the salesman and he said it just a beginners guitar, so they don't use the best wood. If you want something closer to a Les Paul, try the Edwards line.

Not sure how "new" these ones are that you speak of, but mine's gotta be about 10 years old or so, and it is of an excellent build.

                    Thanks.

Picture is from the previous owner. First thing I did was remove the pickguard and the toggle plate. I think the pickguard interferes with the lines of a Paul, and always remove them.

                        True, to a point.

                        Older Burny's were MIJ.
Most newer Burny's are MIK/MIC. Most likely the same plants that make the Fernandes Ravelle Deluxe and Elite's, etc.... (But, I really do like my '03 Ravelle Deluxe.)

Fernandes did release a limited run of MIJ Burny's a couple years ago called the RLG105(standard) RGC115(Custom).

                        So keep an eye out.
As well as for an MIJ Ravelle JPC.

Check out Janapnaxe, Tokai Registry, and My Les Paul forums for more info on Burny's.
