    What's this big box?

Does is say anything on top?

On the face? Ah, CARVIN!! Too big to be a guitar!

Oh, yeah! I know what it is.

Lets open this bad boy up! Very nicely packed.

    OOH! Little sneak peak!

This thing has more protection than a 70's swinger party!

    SWEET 4x12!

    Nice side shot.

    Baby got back!!

    Now for the "inspection" .

Living in Stereo. Switch is recessed and covered by a removable rubber gromet
to prevent accidental flick of the switch.

Don't be gettin" all up in my grill!

    Front baffle is carpeted.

    V30s! \m/

    Solid "All Ply" construction.

Lets get a little deeper in, baby!

    Wire! Wire we here?

Center braced between the baffle and back. Yeah!

Thick plywood edging to screw grill into. Accented with grey pipe trim.

    ALL IN THE FAMILY!

    Carvin shipped it:
    "Not" UPS.
    "Not" Fed Ex.
    "Not" USPS.
    "Not" DHL.
    Pilot Air Freight.

I'm very impressed with the construction. IMHO top notch.
I'm going to work on breaking it in the next few days.
Once I got the speakers broken in, then I'll do a a follow up on how it sounds with the rigs.

At $419 (on sale right now) I couldn't pass it up.
It's like buying four V30s and getting the cab free.

Sweet! I have 2 old Carvin 4x12's, matching top (G12t-100's) and bottom (Eminence legends) and they are bulletproof. Looks like the new ones are still built just as good. One of the best companies out there IMO.

Cool. I thought about getting a V3 cab for my V3 head, but it sounds excellent as is through my Randall 2x12/1x15.

              My band does Power Metal.
Before that I was doing Prog Metal.
I'm sure you could get into "brutalz" territory with it.

My Yellow one is my first Carvin.
So, it's still dear to me, and my go to guitar.
But, I do rotate my guitars quite frequently.
Helps cut down on the g.a.s. .
