  • Carvins Galore!

Here are a few Carvins I've added in the last month or two.
Got them all used at retarded prices too.
The neck on the 7 string is very wide but still very comfortable at the same time, to my surprise.
The flamed Koa top is just gorgeous, like all of Carvin's optional tops.
The CT3 has blown me away with it's playability.
The jumbo stainless steel frets are the best option I've ever experienced on a guitar.
The AC175, after I lower the bridge saddle a bit, plays almost as low as my electrics and is awesome for acoustic lead play.
The LB70 has the 5 piece neck and flamed top option also.

    L to R - AC175, CT3, DC727, LB70
Currently at 78 guitars - Paul Reed Smith, Jackson, Robin, Washburn, Carvin, Peavey, U.S. Masters, G&L, Hamer, Godin, BC Rich, Yamaha, Fender, ESP, Kramer, Cort, Ibanez, Aria Pro & Charvel

Man I had a CT3 just like that I had to sell a year or so ago. I see the truss rod cover is missing, did it have something written on it? The one I had , had a verse from Psalms engraved on the truss rod cover. It also had a ding down to the wood. Seems like it was on the back/bottom edge or something like that. I'd bet anything that this is my old guitar because I remember putting the Duncan pickups in it and having to drill those center holes in the pickup rings to mount them. If this is the one then you've definately got a winner! I loved that guitar. It was one of those that when you go to ship it out you get the sick feeling in your stomach. It also had the Carvin tweed case. If this is my old one and you ever want to get rid of it then PLEASE definately let me know!

Here's a link to some pics of the one I had:

Yeah, I think it might be one and the same.
      Why did you sell it?
I'd never think of getting rid of it after playing it for 5 minutes.

I got layed off from work. It was a killer guitar! The Duncan in the bridge positon was in there when I got it but I put the Duncan in the neck position. I thought the guy I sold it to would keep it for a long time. I even gave him my Carvin leather strap by Levy's. Did you get the strap with it?

I don't blame you for not selling it. If times would have been different then you wouldn't have it right now :O) Good score!

Nice! Love the CT3 and the 7-string. They now have 24-fret versions of the CT models, and I'm actually thinking of ordering one of those and a 7-string.

Ah...I love them. I actually contemplated for 1 year about ordering them, studied all the options thru and thru, but eventually had my then girlfriend bring me a DK2M from USA. We have a lot of issues here about ordering stuff online and from abroad, and also about deliveries. But someday I am sure I will get me one of those

              Enjoy yours man!

A friend of mine just got back from Shreveport with some cash in his pocket, so we set down for about an hour ordering his CT624 with literally every option there is. Jumbo stainless frets, 20" radius, see-thru black to purple burst, with a hand picked quilted top to match a pattern he wanted. I'm more excited than he is I think!

The CTs are just great guitars, no doubt about that. The 727 has really grown on me, I can't stop playing it. The added B string does come in handy sometimes.

@ kalapoka - If I were you I'd buy used if possible. You won't regret it.

My bass player is also a guitar player, and he's got a TON of late model Carvins. He just bought a singlecut off Ebay and it is stunning. The action is super low, doesn't buzz, and just reeks of quality.

I'm so close to ordering a custom 7 string for myself. Great guitars for the money.
