Is it made out of plywood. I have smashed several of them in the past. Nice tops, plywood bodies.
You can tell if its plywood by removing any of the cavity covers. Also.. they are extremely heavy. With that said... even the plywood bodies models played and sounded great. Hondo was very popular back in the day. They were one of the only companies that made nice copies. They also made some really crappy copies. Yours looks real nice.

No plywood from a closer inspection. The body is a multi piece much like the Gibson pancake bodies of the same time period this one is an early 70's from my research.
Yes its pretty heavy but not too extreme at 10 lbs.The body looks just like mahogany maybe Luan or an Asian form of mahogany. The neck has the same grain as the body.
This from my research this is a MIJ Hondo and not Korean not sure when they changed mfg location maybe when the Hondo II line came out not sure tho.
Heres a pic of the neck pick up route so can see better. You guys tell me what you see.
I sounds really nice very mellow IMO.

Back in the late 70's when we were all playing $99.00 cheeze wiz guitars, one of our rich friends got a Hondo II cherry sunburst Les Paul. yep. It was plywood but it smoked anything we had and he ruled with it. Looked just like Ace's.

The tenon looks almost like a long.
They did a very good job copying Gibson down to the pancake bodies. I bet they wished they new better and tried copying a 1958-1960 model.
What pickups?
Go for jumbo frets and make it a shredder.
