Not sure on the pick ups Don 7.6 in the neck and 7.8 in the bridge They sound incredibly good very PAF ish.

I love my 77 Custom with T-Tops in the 7.6 range. You don't need a ton of winds to make good sounding distortion.

I don't run a lot of gain on the amps and low to med output pick ups have such a sweet mellow tone when you kick in an OD pedal.
