maybe this has been done before, but what was your first guitar?
Mine was a 69 Teisco E110 that my mom bought my older sister for Christmas from Sears. It sat in her closet for years, not being interested in learning, then somehow it ended up with me. I never did anything with it other than maybe pretend I was Ace or Jimmy Page, but then in college when I met a couple of guys that played, I started learning on that "axe". MY GOD IT WAS HORRIBLE! believe it or not it had the same strings on it that were on it when I got it from my sister back in 1975. After a month or so I bought another guitar, a Westone something or other, and used the Teisco in a guitar throwing contest a local guitar store held. Looking back, I don't think I'd ever throw any guitar no matter how horrible I thought it was. Well, there must be something close to karma, maybe "guitarma", because on the first throw, I put myself in first place, and the guitar held up remarkably well (or so I thought). By the time everyone had thrown and they were allowing the survivors to make a second throw, I was in third place. I really wanted that squire strat, so I opted to throw again. Somehow the guitar broke apart while making the second throw, badly cutting my palm. Didn't win the strat, and couldn't play anything for about 3 weeks.
**EDIT*** found a pic of one. don't you just love that pic gaurd?
