I know this isn't the most likely place to see reviews for acoustics...but i have to say...I was so impressed by this guitar today...it was superior in sound and playability to guitars 3 times the price.

I've got a Takamine G Series from about 15 years ago. I always liked that thing...and at this point, after so many years and so many hours with it, it's like an old friend. It's worn in perfectly for me, I love the way it plays...the sound is good..not magical...but good....and I suppose that makes sense. It wasn't a cheap guitar...but it wasn't on the level of most Martins/Taylors either. Nonetheless, it's definitely something I'm going to have a hard time parting with. After playing this Martin today, it'll make it that much easier.

So with that said, I'm gonna be selling my Takamine. I don't know what it's worth...I paid about 600 for it new back all those years ago. And for its age, it's in beautiful condition. No scratches, maybe one or two tiny dings...that you'd have to look for to see.

Anyone have any idea what one of these things would be worth if I were to sell it privately (instead of trading up for the Martin)...I know that when you trade, they really rip you off.

Anyway, I just wanted to share my experience with a truly exceptional guitar. In all my years of playing acoustics, this thing sounded like it came out of the sky. Just a gorgeous sound...and it played well too....all for around 1100 bucks

    Thanks.

there's a BIN dc1e on ebay right now for $925. and no it's not mine, just showing you that you don't have to spend 1100.

I know what you mean about the newer Martins, very well made for good pricing, I just bought a 000-15 which is still on its way to me.
the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

Thanks buddy...I actually ended up buying it at Sam Ash. They took 100 off the price, so I did ok. And they gave me 200 for my old Takamine..which is about 20 bucks more than book value....so it was win win. I really didn't want to go through the trouble of trying to sell it privately...mainly because shipping aint cheap.

In any event, I got the guitar...someone bought the one I played, so I had to special order it. When I got it, you could still smell the glue. Very cool...I was the first person to play the thing. Almost immediately after getting it home, I noticed that it was buzzing quite a bit..especially up near the 12th fret. Over the course of the week, the buzzing got worse. So I brought it back. I figured, it's a brand new guitar...they'd fix it without question. You know, the guy at the store (not the guy who sold it to me..he wasn't there when I brought it back)...another guy...he actually said to me...do you have an extended service protection on it? I said no, and he preceded to tell me that setups were 65 dollars. Well...I lost my top...I said you gotta be kidding. Within 30 seconds, I had a manager over, and even the manager kinda gave me a hard time. So I said to him...you guys have a 30 day return period, right? I'm going to return this guitar. Wouldn't you know it...all of a sudden the setup was free. Why in the world anyone would give me a hard time is beyond me..but I'll tell you this...I've been shopping at that store since it opened in 1988...I'm done with them after i get this thing back.

Sorry to go on about this..I know it's not the subject of my post. Just venting
      Thanks again man.
