i often forget i have this guitar. i only use it for recording. i was laying some tracks today, and wanted a B-3 sound, so i dug this beast out of it's case, plugged it into my roland GR-30, and off i went. plugged the GR-30 into my POD 2.0, dialed up a twin with a rotating speaker sim, and BANG!! got the perfect sounding B-3 through a lesile.
this guitar is very sweet. thin, contoured mahogany body with a flame maple top. thin flat neck, with a rosewood board and abalone dots. the frets are small and thin like my '62 strat - very comfortable for chord work. the guitar is loaded with SD pickups - a JB and '59. both are coil tapped with push/pull volume/tone pots. it has an RMC piezo system for "acoustic" sound and 13-pin midi access. this is a VERY versatile guitar. i tried gigging with it once, but i had SO many tone options that i spent more time fucking with the guitar than i did playing!!! so it has been relegated to studio use only.
if i could keep only one guitar, this would be it. it does EVERYTHING, and it does it very well!!!!
anyway, here are the pics....my lovely brian moore:
