i often forget i have this guitar. i only use it for recording. i was laying some tracks today, and wanted a B-3 sound, so i dug this beast out of it's case, plugged it into my roland GR-30, and off i went. plugged the GR-30 into my POD 2.0, dialed up a twin with a rotating speaker sim, and BANG!! got the perfect sounding B-3 through a lesile.

this guitar is very sweet. thin, contoured mahogany body with a flame maple top. thin flat neck, with a rosewood board and abalone dots. the frets are small and thin like my '62 strat - very comfortable for chord work. the guitar is loaded with SD pickups - a JB and '59. both are coil tapped with push/pull volume/tone pots. it has an RMC piezo system for "acoustic" sound and 13-pin midi access. this is a VERY versatile guitar. i tried gigging with it once, but i had SO many tone options that i spent more time fucking with the guitar than i did playing!!! so it has been relegated to studio use only.

if i could keep only one guitar, this would be it. it does EVERYTHING, and it does it very well!!!!

anyway, here are the pics....my lovely brian moore:

Probably would have purchased one if I could have found one at the time for a reasonable price. The neck might be a bit thin for me though.
I think they have 1-5/8" nuts.

I always liked the placement of the jack on those guitars. It was recessed into the back and is completely out of the way. Brian Moore made some nice guitars. I remember playing a great custom shop version of theirs at Manny's in NYC and really enjoying it. Whatever happened to them anyway? Weren't they bought by someone else?

Very nice! I had one of the import H/S/H models with a Floyd for awhile (i9f) and really liked it.

thanks guys!! it really is a fantastic guitar. as far as what happened...i was tlaking to my my friend that was a former dealer and he told me that brian moore eliminated their dealer network. they sell direct now and only build a few guitars at a time.

the neck is 1 5/8" at the nut. i like it. it is like a vintage strat.

            joe, was your i9f neck-through?

              No, the i9f is a bolt-on.

The i's are Korean made. They no longer make them in the USA. Big money to buy the old ones usually.

Yep, mine was Korean. It was a very nice guitar, trans black. I don't remember why I sold it now. They don't make any more USA models at all now?

My understanding is that they still make the M/C 1 and custom shop C90's, but in very limited numbers. their website isn't helpful and i can't find any news to the contrary....
