Yeah, I want something a little different. Most people go for maple necks and not the bodies. I want the maple body, just plain maple without the flamed or quilted top, with a darker neck. I may also go five-piece mahogany/maple neck (three bigger mahogany strips and two smaller maple).

These guitars seem to be bargins for the quality of what goes into them. Hunting a CT6 now, I think a worth while USA guitar to add to the collection.

I think so, I bought it used. Mine was modded, the mini switches were plugged and the trem was changed to Wilkinson. It also has a hip-shot and earvanna nut. The Holdsworth pups aren't bad either. The neck has an ebony board and stainless frets, I like it and it can't be touched for the money.

Cool. I think I'm gonna go with stainless steel frets, too.

here are my carvins. Carvin is my all time favorite brand. Ive had many high end customs from warrior, gibson custom shop, jackson, g&l, bc rich, hamer Etc. I only buy usa and of all the guitars ive ever owned they are the best as far as QC and price. These are the ones I own today.

CT6 w/ Stainless frets which are the best IMHO

                Ultra V w dimarzios

My x100b head. Someone told me on this forum that it wont do metal. I beg to differ. I put some 6l6's in it and this thing keeps up with a dual rec all day long

Ive never played a quicksilver. Despite the bad rep Ed gets for certain things from what I have seen they know their guitars over there. I know Ed is not a fan of anything carvin which doesnt make a whole lot of sense to me. I know the quality is great with carvin so the only thing I would think he could have against them is he cant sell them and make any money. Since I have never played a quicksilver I cant make a comparison but I can put it to you this way. When I had it made I had a Warrior Signature and a McInturff glory standard. After receiving the CT6 they both got sold to fund more carvins.

Is it possible to order a TL-60 with a reverse Ultra-V pointy headstock? That would look killer!
It's all about the blues-rock chatter.

its not in the options on the website but it can be done. Sometimes though if you pick an option that isnt standard its called an option 50. For some of these requests you have to forfeit the 10 day return policy. You still get the warranty but you cant return the guitar if you dont like the color or if the top isnt as nice as you wanted. Its not for sure that they wouldnt let you return it. It really depends on how off the wall your request is. But they have been known to fill odd requests if the customer agrees to keep it as long as the guitar is free from defects.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up. I guess a reverse pointy headstock and a recessed Floyd in a TL-60 would classify as option 50s.

Anyway, all these are great, more guitar porn please!

                                Oh yeah.
The UV is getting a set of 80s cream M22s, new frets, and hardware polish.
Hopefully it will be finished by Christmas.
