So, here's one of Gibsons latest designs, the Firebird X
http://http://www2.gibson.com/Produc...irebird-X.aspx
Features
Very light, ultra comfortable and fast playing physical guitar
A turbo-charged Pure-Analog™ Digital Signal Processing (DSP) engine with Goldtone FX™
Controlled by intuitive new guitar controls and wireless pedal controllers
A full package of Guitar Rig 4 and Gibson Ableton 8 Live software
Right, my opinion on this is, what an absolutely horrible look it's a disgrace to even call it a firebird, and for $5,570 MSRP, you can get your hands on this monstrosity, what a bloody rip off, that headstock is possibly the ugliest headstock I have ever seen especially when joined with that fretboard and the body shape.
Now that I've stated my opinions on the looks, I'm going to start on the features.
Gibson is clearly taking their technology too far, guitars were meant to be played, not to be the worlds first bloody wooden PC, you're implementing all of these features but have you ever wondered on how much more appealing it would be if you created an easy to tune but hard to go out of tune sort of product? guitarists play guitars, not computers.
Also the price, people could get a custom guitar for this damn price or one of the best sounding set ups on the market, if you headed in the same direction with the darkfire, you might've had a winner, not too much tech but still great playability and visually appealing but nope, oh well, let's see how long it takes for them to realise what a mistake this one is.
