Some of you may recall that Paint Your Own Guitar USing Krylon book I bought off Ebay some years ago.

Well, I had an old Vantage FV575 (Matsumoku era) that I sanded and painted, but then stuck in the shed to let the paint dry.

Several years later, I decided to put it back together and see what would happen.

Needless to say, it's not perfect, but it's playable. It's got runs and bubbles and could stand to be sanded, but I'm happy with the color and can tolerate the flaws (for now).

Still sounds great and plays great, which is all that matters.

Was that an ebook? I can't find mine. I think it's on a retired computer.

        Holy shit my eyes!!

That's some bright yellow right there. Actually, I like it. You don't see enough yellow guitars IMHO.

I thought so too... Then I saw this one.

I've seen enough yellow guitars now.

Actually it's pretty cool looking. Bolt-on? I've been wanting to do a bolt-on roundhorn V for a while. One of these days I'll get around to it.

A Vee looks good in that color me like.
Yeah yellow is a good color on guitars i think one of the better ones,
            much better than red

I don't why but i pretty much hate red anything...reminds me of ketchup.

Should've done it in Deep Metallic Blue..

Very cool. The yellow stands out so much against the black chair it almost looks photoshopped or 3D.

It's odd, but I've ditched every neckthrough and setneck V because of how they feel, but this one actually feels "right" to me, and it's the same nut width as a Gibson and Jackson.

                I thought I remembered it being a narrow nut width, but I measured it - 1 11/16"

Then again, it's 24 3/4" scale, which changes the perception of the board width.

                A short-scale bolt-on KV.....hmmm.....

(I prefer bolt-on Vs because I can mount the front strap pin on the edge of the pocket)

And another odd note - even after sitting in the shed for years, and with the paint having had all those years to dry, when I glued the nut back in place, some of it ran down the back of the neck. I wiped it off with a paper towel and it took paint with it, looking like it had just been applied

Did you paint over the old paint? or sand first?, sometimes the finish underneath will affect the new paint, like if you spraypaint vinyl it will never dry

I sanded it to the primer.

It was like 20 years ago, and i was just winging it, but i probably layed it on too thick #1 and then sprayed the clear before it was dry enough, it just always felt kinda sticky to the touch.
