Edwards Japan, anyone own one of these.

Shit, i was looking for a long time for one of those without the vines inlays.

Wish it was black, but if i could afford it it would probably be gone right now.

Edwards are nice guitars they're Korean made Esps, but not like most the Ltd's we get here. I read some history article translated awhile back, earlier ones were made in Japan but the Korean ones are still QQ'd by Esp jdm standards.

One thing tho to keep in mind tho is those are hard ash bodied and it is bright and a bit heavier. That and there can be more a possibility of dogs with that wood.

I've bought 6 hard ash guitars out of japan and one was a dead dog plank just way to dense and heavy. Another one is a little on the heavy side but the rest were lighter and consistent and are the best sounding ones.

The ESP's are Korean. Edwards are made in Japan, and some bodies are made in China with Edwards QC then all the finishes and wiring etc are finished of in Japan. The cheapers Edwards / ESP quality guitars are call Grassroots guitars . The blue guitar is Alder with a Maple neck. The Japanese makers now have there cheaper Korean and Chinese guitars the trick is to find the higher quality guitars that are made for the Japanese market. Tokai do a model called an LG, they are a PRS copy with really nice wood, they are not that cheap either.


Note the spec and RRP of this guitar makes them bargins at 1/3 the RRP................

I think it looks ok, i don't mind the binding at all. I just don't like the vine inlays, too cluttered and overdone. Diamonds would be perfect.

I actually don't mind the inlays that much. I just think the abalone they use in the binding is too much. I don't like the ESP/LTDs that use it either.

I wouldn't normally have liked it either in the past, but i got the BCrich V with the beast headstock with it and in person it looks stunning
so now it's grown on me a little. But before that i didn't like it either. Still would prefer plain old black over anything.
