No, you'll have to go with whatever body shapes they have. Just click on one of the guitars on their site and you can build around that with different options on the list. If there's something not listed, you may have to call and ask, or just go to their forum and ask. People have gotten different colors and electronics options that aren't normally offered, and people have even, at times, been able to supply their own woods if they want a certain kind of neck (like rosewood instead of the normal mahogany, maple, alder, walnut or koa that they stock). Certain times of the year, if they're busier or whatever, they might say no to specific things.

Thanks! I've been wanting a 7 for a long time and just decided to pull the trigger now. My girlfriend did get me a gift card for Christmas, and I just recently got a Carvin credit card. Within 6 to 8 weeks it should arrive.

Probably not what you are thinking. It's kind of like Burger King. You can order it any way you want as long as you pick from the available options. Just like you can't ask for a fried egg on your Whopper, you can't ask Carvin for different body shapes or custom graphics.

This is the perfect analogy. They will sometimes bend the rules, like toejam I think (if it's the one I remember) deleted a pickup, but doing that kind of thing costs a few bucks and usually voids the 10 day return policy. Where else can you order a "custom" guitar and return it, no questions asked, if you don't like it?

The problem with the resale is that there are so many combinations. Someone isn't going to pay 80% of new for something they kind of want, when they can pay a bit more and get exactly what they want. This is the same reason cars depreciate so fast in the first year or two. If you want a USA Soloist, you can order what... maybe a couple dozen different combinations of options, if that. With a Carvin DC127, there are millions of combinations. It's much harder for someone to find what they want in the used market for this reason.

I have one currently, and they just came out with a new amp (mini V3) I will probably buy as well. I would have sprung for another guitar also but they still don't have a 24 fret bolt on.

Nothing beats buying a USED carvin! They are great build quality...but their aftermarket sales are low...good for you, if you find one that meets your custom
order specs, done by someone else. I bought a Koa C200 with Piezo PUP...in mint condition for $700.00! It weighs 17 lbs! But it plays and looks like a $1900.00 axe.

In 1989 that was the retail on my new one, lol. How quickly time passes. I often kick myself for selling mine. Neck thru, KOA, Floyd, ebony board, strat style body, 2 hum. Someone in the Cleveland, OH area is still enjoying that guitar.

My needs are pretty simple, I just needed a Floyd Rose so I was able to pick up a used DC127C on eBay for $350. I loved it so much I had another one custom made with flamed top, birdseye maple fretboard, and gold hardware to the tune of $1300.
