Music Man John Petrucci, anyone?

I'm curious if anyone here owns one or used to own one!

I played a basic 6 string model last weekend and really liked it. Sounded good, played well and really liked the elbow cutaway, it was very confortable.

So talk me out of it or make my GAS gets out of control!

I played both the MM and the Sterling versions (MM first a couple years ago and the Sterling recently) - I didn't really like wide neck at the nut. Didn't feel comfortable to me. Killer looking guitar, though.

I have an early EBMM Petrucci in Mystic Dream with matching headstock, JP inlays, and piezo pickup. Its a great guitar but completely different feeling than Jacksons. The earlier ones had different Dimarzios in them than the current version which has the D-Sonic and LiquiFire and more recently a Crunch Lab in place of the D-Sonic. Anyway, everything about that guitar is good

I owned the Sterling version of it and LOVED it! They revealed a quilt top Sterling version at Namm that looked tasty as well...

I've played a few and loved them every time I've played them (both the Sterling and regular JP version). I've come awfully close a couple of times of taking the plunge and getting a Sterling model and replacing the bridge pickup with the CrunchLab I'm not using at the moment. GC locally has a couple in on clearout at $350. I also tried talking a local shop down on a MM JP they've had in a while but they weren't willing to come down on the price. That cutaway feels amazing!

On which one? What color? I know they're not cheap but if you can get the USA one with optional piezo pickup go for it

GC is clearing the "stealth black" ones for 349$... I played and they are not too bad compared to my JP6.
