Dude, the vinyl I have seen would take a whole can of Deft on the headstock to cover. Are those decals ridiculously thin or something?

Most of the vinyl is 0.004" thick. I usually shoot two normal coats of polyurethane clear level as best as possible (you probably won't level on the first two coats). Shoot 2 more coats and you should be fine. I have no experience with trying to build and level with lacquer.

Don't get me wrong straycat, I'm not saying you didn't or that I don't believe you or anything!
I'm saying, the vinyl decals I have seen (not from them) are pretty thick and I don't believe they could be cleared over with lacquer or anything else short of automotive clear and it would be plenty thick.
But if it's four thousandths thick as ulijdavid says then it sounds like their vinyl is a good deal thinner than what I've worked with is all, so that is what I was trying to clarify...
Good info dudes. I might have to order some decals from them!Last edited by MakeAJazzNoiseHere; 02-06-2011, 07:47 PM.

I ordered a Charvel decal from them and it was pretty damn thin and I had to be very careful putting it on.
I ordered an old school Kramer logo and it was a waterslide left over from the owners stash.
Nice guys to deal with IMO.Really? well screw Mark Twain.
