I had my tech strip the back of the neck and gunstock oil it, so he stopped at the Volute.

Yeah it looks different in color - but also it looks like it's got circles where the nut bolts would be?

Anyway - very nice guitar. Love Ibanez 7 strings!

oh they are plugged (they sent them out like that) it's a top mount locking nut but I think they originally were neck thru bolts.

actually I just looked at it (the actual guitar) and they are holes (you can see the screws) , the nut is not a top mounted locking nut it's the old style. Just a weird angle on the pics I guess.

Nick I had two CTs and they both had neck through bolts. I think someone's changed the nut on yours. Still an awesome axe.

I wouldn't really call that a "mod", that's pretty minor as the finish is pretty thin on these necks to begin with.
I think it adds a lot to the playability and you could always 'regloss" it if you wanted to.
I know what Mesh is saying here (there's supposedly only 22 of these left) Don't need to hack them up.
