Here is my brand new Carvin CS6. It was delivered yesterday. The 14" radius fret board is superb! Another fine chunk-a-wood from Carvin.

That's a real beauty, what are the specs on this'un? Loving the five-piece neck. I really need to save up some cash for a Carvin.

I also got a tung oiled five-piece mahogany/maple neck on my 7 string. My postcard said completion date is supposed to be today, so I'm waiting to hear back if it's done and when it will ship!

Thanks guys! It does suck that your chances of finding, and playing, a Carvin neck outside of a Carvin showroom are horrible but if you do get so lucky you will be impressed. Once I did I parted with all of my PRS guitars to acquire some more Carvins. You get the great attention to detail as PRS but without the stupid price tag. How much do you think it would have cost me to build this with PRS?? Yeah exactly....... a shit ton. I do prefer the 14" radius fretboard as opposed to the 12" though. I play thrash metal and the 12" radius is for more open chords and such. I like to groove with my bends and pinches and can play longer without cramping on a 14". Something to consider if your gonna build one.

I paid the $100 rush fee for a 30 day build and it was only 3 days off. They did however ship it without notifying me first. It just showed up. Luckily I was home to sign for it. I was told they would contact me prior to shipping. I guess it was more of a surprise this way. Anyways 33 days to take a guitar idea from my head and put it in my hands, at this quality level, is awesome. I waited 9 months for a Custom Shop Bernie Rico Jr. (and I will gladly do it again!)

That's a beauty for sure. Had my eye on a CT6 for some time but haven't pulled the trigger. Didn't go for the oiled neck huh?
