Hmmm... I just had a thought. Would it be possible to fret a guitar with Jumbo frets for the first 22 and then Medium Jumbo for the rest? Something like that might definitely be beneficial to designs like this.
It's all about the blues-rock chatter.

      IIRC it doesn't work.

It does work. Jake E. Lee's ESP signature guitars were like that.
There were a few recent ones made for DCGL, and you can see the two different size frets in the pics. http://www.drumcityguitarland.com/dr...r-P3661C0.aspx

Wait... in fact, if this works, the odd thing is that it's never used. It would make playing the upper frets very easy...

Never seen the point in having more than 24 frets. Unless it looks cool of course, and that's certainly not the case with this thing.

Must be hard to play with any accuracy up there, thinner frets or not. Why not just have a little fretless playground past the 24th to mess about in? Hmm...

I don't think it looks bad at all, but if I went beyond 24 I'd as soon have 36 frets instead and 7 strings like Uli.

Wow, I like that. Wonder what the neck pup simulator sound like. Wouldn't mind if Ibanez just made an in between (Caparison Horus 27 fret type). Interesting that they're using Alder instead of their normal Basswood too.

Now Dolphins and Dogs can hear you shred too!

On second thoughts, lets not go to the 30th fret. Tis a silly place.
All men play on 10. Never gonna turn down again.
