Edwards (by ESP) guitars?

Has anyone here tried or owned one of these Edwards guitars? I was looking at the Japanese ESP website and found this little cutie, (which happens to be the cheapest of the floyded star shapes that match my specs):

It's about $1000 CAD, which is somewhat the price of an LTD, so do these compare at all? Has anyone tried one and would recommend one? Pics?

I'm pretty sure there's a couple of people on this board with an Edwards or two, IIRC there was an NGD thread in this very section about one a while back. I don't own one but i remember reading very positive things about quality, etc. since they're made by ESP. I also remember seeing a Star just like that one on E-Bay not too long ago. I would've snatched it up in a heartbeat if i wasn't a broke-ass student.

High quality Japanese made guitar line. My buddy Mike Guerrero (Deathriders) used to have an endorsement deal with Edwards; I remember once after a gig he did with Mike Batio he was showing me his Edwards V - I was impressed.

I have an Edwards Les Paul. Its a pretty nice guitar and came with Duncan pickups, Gotoh tuners, etc... from the factory. The fret work on it is nice too. Thats my only experience with them. And yes, there was a thread about Edwards on here not too long ago. The price isn't bad on them either

I've also owned an Edwards Les Paul in the past. Quality is about the same as an LTD 1000 series guitar or ESP standard series. If you like the specs and shape, go for it!

How would I go abouts ordering one? Should I scour eBay, or contact an ESP dealer?

From what I've heard, in terms of quality they are equivalent to Jackson Stars Japanese made guitars. I think that means "good"

I don't think ESP dealers have Edwards here in the USA. I think they're technically supposed to be a Japanese market only guitar. You can get them on E-Bay though. I bought mine used but literally mint off another forum member on another site. The other cool thing about Edwards is that they also have/had some sig models like a Jimmy Page or John Sykes sig model. Like I said, for the price they're hard to beat!

I know that the following two Japanese shops at least used to ship guitars internationally. A bunch of members here have bought Jackson Stars guitars from them. I'm not seeing any of the Anchang models in stock at either shop though. Maybe you can e-mail them and see if they will order one for you?

BTW, the price listed on the ESP site is MSRP, so you will probably pay a little less.

FWIW A few people have asked ESP where they are made. It appears that apart from the earliest guitars, the initial woodworking is done in China and they are put together and finished in Japan, e.g.: Edwards FAQ. A chap on the mylespaul forum had an interesting exchange with ESP about it too:
