Thanks for everyone's input! I'm a little hesitant to order a guitar from Japan, hell I'm scared to ship a guitar across the province!

I've personally had nothing but excellent results getting guitars shipped from Japan thus far.
Right now it may be a bit hectic as expected but in the past for me they usually arrived in 3 days to my door,.. i do live on the west coast tho, but their post (EMS) is great, then it's up to your local post once it hit's NA shores. I've bought 6 or 7 guitars from there, actually it's the only place i really browse or look to shop for them for the most part, they have the coolest shit.

I will also vouch for the EMS service. I've sent guitars to Slovenia three times, twice to the UK, once to Canada, once to New Zealand, and about five times to the US.

One of the guitars that I sent to the UK arrived at the Customs office two days after I sent it, but then sat there for about a week before it was delivered to my friend Tony.

Other than that, everyone else received their guitars within 5 days max. I make sure to pack guitars so that they will survive a North Korean missile strike or three, so none of them were damaged at all during shipping either. I would like to think that my countrymen are also conscientious about packing when shipping to foreign countries.

          Hope this helps,

Yep, pretty much The Best Packing possible. I now try to pack stuff the way i've received stuff from Japan. They make these cool little hand made newspaper puffs, lol, i don't know how to describe it but they rock, and they are all pieced together perfectly like a puzzle. I still cannot make them the same way. They just impress the hell out of me, silly i know hehe.

I could sit on this box no problem, i'm light but still - had to literally Saw it open. Might as well be a wooden crate. Strapped and tape over that.

The Origami newspaper puffs lol, not a great shot, but they are shaped perfectly and very thick and shock absorby.

            Bubble wrapped inside and out.

Double Boxed - Yeah, no worries.

All of them have been basically packed this well.

I've bought two guitars from Ishibashi and had great experiences with EMS. Much better than FedEx. Ishibashi packed them impressively too, putting bubble-wrap in every possible place:
