  • BC Rich Experts...need some info...

I have this coming for some artwork I did for a friend back in NY. He was in a bind and has had this guitar kicking around a while so I said I would take it on trade. I have no idea if this is actually a USA, a Fake, or wtf im dealing with. Only BC's I somewhat know about are slingers.

The Guitar is a BC Rich Bich

    Bolt on Neck

    R script Logo

    Jackson Style inlays?????????

    LA Cali Plate

    Serial BC422XX X is a number....

    Kahler Trem

Anyone know what this may be year wise and if I got my 900$ in artwork covered? I have never really done much with BC Rich.

Im assumin im gettin screwed on this one lol

need pics, but it sounds like a roman, possible classaxe. BC- prefixed plates, used at the end of the Sr era, not that many and they were not as consistant as earlier guitars, the remaining plates were given to classaxe, there were plates class axe didnt use, some were sold to Ed, some where floating around the tri state area and still are. is the kahler a flat mount or post mount floyd type.

          Rosewood overlay on the headstock?
Sounds like a leftover finished out by CA or Ed Roman.
          Really? well screw Mark Twain.

I have seen others but not quite like this one. Never seen one with this headstock or a Kahler. I feel like im prob gonna get screwed on the trade deal but now im just too intrigued to not take a shot at it.

What I do know is no one on the BCR forum has seemed to have an answer lol

looks like an import, hard to tell but the body shape looks off for a USA. the headstock shape looks off too, at least for a PRE-classaxe. BCR 3 on 3 headstocks the tops dont line up evenly like on yours.

BCRichs templates got all screwy after class axe. they are now closer to the originals but still not the same as the pre classaxe guitars. i think thats why their 40th anni guitars never sold, they were the wrong shapes, well that & the prices.

The headstock isnt evenly matched as you stated. Look closer its off, not to the degree of the one you posted but they are not even edged. Im gonna take a shot at it hell I didnt expect to ever get paid back at the rate he was goin anyway, so wtf why not im out of town for about 10 days ill post pics when I get back.

Everything looks right about it, except the neck... Possible replacement? I don't know, the logo and headstock doesn't look right, and IIRC there was an inlay BCR used that looked similar to the shark fin...

I've never seen any BC Rich bolt on or otherwise with shark tooth inlays. The NJ japan imports had the R logo as did the older USA but this is like nothing I've seen. I have a USA bolt on 3x3 neck and it has the script logo with the tm trademark but it has diamond MOP's. That neck does look similar to mine so it could be something done to order, BUT...

My 3x3 neck doesn't match up evenly and its reversed of that, with the pointed hump on the left side. Now I'm wondering about mine.

The TM'd logo was used on Class Axe made guitars. class axe was an odd era, they had blanks from BCR they used for a while. they didnt even have a wood shop for the first 2 yrs or so. they werent supposed to use the "R" logo, the script logo had the TM, guitars made in their shop usually had a CAxxx serial # stamped into the neck, even bolt ons and a different control route than Rico era guitars. there are plenty of execptions to this, oddballs, customs and some that were finished by a NON BCRich companies.
