  • Crazy fretless 12 string Agile

A friend of mine just ordered and received one of these. Gotta hand it to Rondo for not being afraid to try unconventional builds...

Title should be "Crazy useless fretless 12 string Agile"

I only play 12-strings, and that thing still looks like a nightmare.

                  6 strings: good
                  12 strings: very good
                  no frets: Best Number 1!

I like my Agiles, but I can't see why anyone would want a fretless guitar! That just seems like a nightmare to me!
                    Ron is the MAN!!!!

check out what Ron Thal does with his fretless Vigier. I'd love to hear what he would come up with using a guitar like this.

having said that, I could only make sounds like feral cats screwing on the tin roof of a ballbearing factory with it

Hope the bridge is screwed in the right spot that would be an intonation nightmare.
                        Really? well screw Mark Twain.

This would function as effectively an "electric oud." I can see Turkish or Arab musicians loving it. In fact, there are a number of frightfully skilled fretless electric guitarists in Turkey. Most of them use a sustainer pickup to make up for the natural lack of sustain on a fretless guitar. You can do amazing things with them if you can get your intonation spot on. A 12-string version would be harder to play, but oud players have been doing it for centuries.
