Much better that it be saved for something loaded with EMGs & a Floyd to be played through a 6505.
you forgot the zoom FX processor and BBE 442 sonic maximizer.

I've had a few Takamine,Taylor,Alvarez, Gibson and all leave me a bit flat to be honest.
The best playing one I had was a Taylor 614 action was perfect. The Gibson LGO was more compact and deeper tone.
            Really? well screw Mark Twain.

I don't like the heavy strings. I have a cheap Rogue acoustic-electric that is a cheap copy of a Charvel 625-C. I put 9s on it and run it through a chorus into an amp. It's a cheapo but playable and stays in tune decently. I just don't have the jones for a real nice acoustic. It has a cutaway and 23 frets - I can't stand a 20-fret standard acoustic with the boxy neck. I consider myself an electric guitarist only.

The major complaint I have is that I can't seem to do decent bends on my acoustic. I don't know whether it's because the strings are a different material, but I can only get half step bends.

I have a few Taylors which I love. The only one I didn't like is my Baby Taylor, which is a cheap 3/4 guitar I got less than a week ago. Its already up on craigslist.

But any of the other Taylors, well, you can't go wrong!

Ive got a Laravee thats not going anywhere. Everyone that hears it wants to buy it but its a keeper. Sounds like a blend of Martin and Taylor.

                      Agreed!

I went into The Podium (a local acoustic-only guitar shop) and said "I'm primarily an electric player but want an acoustic. What should I look at? They immediately said "Taylor". They didn't even suggest anything else.

I didn't buy my Taylor from them, but thought it was ha-ha funny that they didn't even recommend anything else for me.

Spent a chunk of today learning "Here Comes the Sun" by the Beatles. Spent a chunk of last night learning "I Don't Know" by Ozzy (I should say, finally learning it beyond the opening riff...). Variety is a good thing.

                          I haven't found many that I've liked.

For me, I know where the rub lies. I can't understand why the old school bridge still exists?
If I had a TOM/Stoptail somehow mounted on a Acoustic body, would that not still be considered an acoustic?
                          Or a Fender hardtail?

One of these days, I may see if some CS would make something like that.
