I've played a Setzer, and they are really badass. Set up properly, they really play nicely. The one that gives me the occasional GAS is the White Falcon (Bigsby version). The newer post-Fender made ones are supposedly of higher quality.

the white falcon is certainly bad ass, they are out of my price range though. that electromatic sells for $700 or so. the white falcons are over 2500

Yeah I do have an affinity for going after the priciest models!

Didn't Billy Duff(y?) from the Cult use one as well? I like the tone he got.

I think Billy Duffy played a White Falcon model.

I am a Gretsch newbie (check the thread on my new White Falcon), but I really love these hollow bodies! Yes many people perceive them as a 2-trick pony, strictly for rockabilly and country, but I find them great sounding instruments which work well with pretty much everything except Meshuggah (until Gretsch starts making an 8 string white falcon...).

I think you won't regret buying this Electromatic, it looks badass and the Filtertrons are very versatile pickups. The ones built in Japan don't have some of the features of the US made ones, like trestle bracing etc., and they sound a bit duller both acoustically and plugged in, nevertheless they are high quality instruments, and probably the best deal today for a "proper" hollow body.
