  • NGD - PRS CU24 purple

finally went for it and got this pretty well cared for 2002 Custom 24 off the Bay. had to sell two of my guitars to swing it, but it's worth it. so solid and no neck dive at all. believe everything you hear about these, they are fantastic. I have to put the original bridge pickup back in, the seller included it which was cool.

it's hard to photograph the color and flame well but here's a few tries -
I understand the first ever purple PRS was ordered custom by Howard Leese in 1990.

thanks guys, yeah I love it. it's like every part on it is nicer than any other guitar I've played, the tuners are so precise, and the tuner locking mechanism works so easy, the nut is top notch, nice trem, stays in tune great, everything about it measures up to what I've heard.

the only points less than superlative which I've noticed, are - I'd have liked slightly larger frets, but still it's really easy to play, and the 5-way rotary knob takes getting used to. and while the carved top is gorgeous, the way they carve it to flange the edges at the natural binding kinda bites into my R arm as it rests on the top edge while playing (standing up, which is my normal way of playing). so after a few hours of rehearsal the inside of my R forearm is rubbed & somewhat sore. but I can live with that.

Hey what about wearing a wrist band like Dave Mustaine? http://www.flickr.com/photos/laughin...er/5609647961/ not sure if it would help or not tho.

yeah I don't think a wrist band is in my future LOL.

I'll just learn to growl like Dave.

Yep, I still miss my '95 Custom 22 with Dragon 1 pups (man, they smoked). If I hadn't gone with a Suhr modern Carve top I'd have had one again and will at some point in the future.

Nice guitar. Now swap all the hardware for gold! Purple + gold = essential!
All men play on 10. Never gonna turn down again.
