  • Nice RG find RG3EX1

Found this last week in a pawn shop for silly dollars so I picked it up today.
Nice looker and in great shape.Love the hard tail Ibbys.
The bridge pick up was dead so I pointed it out and they lowered the price by $30.00.
Of course that was fine by me I love a cheap ass guitar.
Installed a set of PRS/SE pick ups and she is up and rockin'.Have a Duncan heavy metal live wire and an EMG 85 so they might end up in there running 18 volts who knows.
Been looking at the new Ibanez stuff at GC and nothing really looked like a bargain so I made out OK with this one

Those are definitely sweet looking guitars! I'm always on the lookout for a RGT42DXFX for the neckthru and hardtail.

For an Indonesian RG its pretty good 3 piece neck too.
I put 10's on it maybe needs 9's kinda stiff feeling to me.Great guitar for the money.

That looks nice. There was a trans black one on local craigslist a few weeks ago for $150, basically mint. But it was not really local enough for me to check out. And the black did nothing for me too. I like that red.

I love that body style with the sharper looking edges. Just screams metal imo. they should make all RGs like that.

If only I could get over the way basswood sounds I would own one.

My little brother has one of these in sunburst. He didn't like the bridge or the pickups in it so I put a SD 59 in the neck and a SD custom in the bridge, took the custom out later and put a SD screamin demon in it and put a Kahler 7330 flat mount in it. Had to route the body a bit but it turned out looking realy nice. I liked the neck on it, played nice and sounded sweet. Excellent score sir.
I want to go out nice and peaceful in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming and hollering like the passengers in his car.

                    +3!

                    I'd love a white one.

                    Nice axe, Richard!

I have had a few RG 550's, 321's , 570's and a USA custom and all were nice playing guitars.
The 570 was I think the best sounding one due to the thicker mahogany body.
This one rips and plays really well but I'm sure it will get a new home soon.

I've been temped to get one of these, I haven't becuase of them being made in indonesia and the fact that the last ibanez I had I really hated the neck shape at the nut. I played one a few weeks ago at GC and really liked it. Oh the GAS.
