Cool story - i didn't know those 7321's were extended scale. Nice trade up tho as the K7 is mahogany. Does it have the U bar bridge?

Me either, but its the RGD series (RGD7321, RGD321 etc) that are 26.5" the RG7321 is still 25.5", I did some research after I saw this thread since there is an RG7321 for sale near me and if it had have been long scale Id be more interested, but yeah its only the RGD's, they come from the factory tuned down a whole step, I guess the D in RGD means "Downtuned"

When you never play above the first 12 frets, well... Thanks from dad!

He's getting there. Done with chemo for now - 5 months of it. Waiting on some insurance stuff to clear up, and then we start the next phase. Hopefully...

          Okay then...no more silverburst ever!

Like Ralph said, only the RGD series has the extended scale. Probably matters more with a fixed bridge than anything. I do need to email Ibanez and find out what gauge of string the K7's shipped with so I can set it up right. I don't think the 56-10 will work tuned down to A.

Yep...mahogany, trem, and U-bar! What's not to love?!?

Can someone explain the "u-bar" to me? I've never heard the term before this thread.

Its a U shaped trem bar, rather than using the regular bar, the u bar is mounted to the trem above the fine tuners and you use your palm to push on it to make a pull up effect

Munky and Head from Korn had/have these on their guitars and the K-7 (their signature model) model had this feature, when Head left Korn the K-7 became the Apex which is just Munky's sig

If you scroll down on the attached link there is a drawing of it

Thanks Ralph. Interesting idea. Do Korn do a lot of riffs using the pull up musically or is it more of a rhythm thing?

Korn does a lot of bending/trilling/other odd noises. They have a lot going on in their stuff. I think a lot of people kind come in with pre-conceived notions about what Korn is/does because of their look, fans, "guest artists" etc. They are NOT Limp Biskit just because they happen to play 7-string Ibbys. People lump them into some kind of "band wagon" band. The thing about Korn is that they BUILT the damn wagon! Even though I'm not a huge fan, they deserve more credit than they get. They started a whole new genre of music, even if you hate it.
