I like the knot behind the bridge, but the other flaw stands out a ton to me. If you don't mind the wait, send it back for a re-build. That's why Carvin gives that option...take advantage of it. Otherwise, it's a great looking (and I'm sure playing) guitar.

The knots may not have been as visible until they started painting, and they absorbed a lot more paint, making them darker.

And frankly, while the knots behind the trem aren't as bad, the "wave" they're sitting in looks like balls

Very cool!! If you don`t like the M22, the C22B is a very meaty pickup and usually comes stock in Carvins. I can`t stand the M22 myself-too trbly and no meat.

Doesn't Carvin usually saw their flawed guitars into several pieces? I heard a story about a guy who worked there in the 80's. He just barely convinced Mark Kiesel to sell him the guitar before he destroyed it. The mortal flaw? A tiny bit of finish overspray.
