Swamp Ash is a lightweight and open pored wood.
Airy tone with a very wide dynamic range.

Mahogany is warmer and a bit bassier...

I have a couple of Pauls, Jems, a Kramer, and Jacksons made with all the woods discribed other than the swamp ash so I was looking to see where it would fit in compared to these others. So I'm guessing it's going to fit in with the the basswood and alder somewhere?

Back then I made the jump from Ibanez RG's to the Robins so from basswood to swampash for me a huge difference best described as just more tone.

I was a shredder playing through an ADA MP-1 and a lot of the nuances were flying over my head...I was was more concerned with my sweep picking and string skipping arpeggios than I was about wood tone but I knew then that the Robin sounded better than the Ibanez.
I'm 45 and yeah, wasn't that what we were all concerned about back in the day! LOL!! Surprising then that more guitars aren't made out of swamp ash. Maybe I'll have to try that on my next CS with a maple top, was thinking alder.........Hmmm.....interesting, thanks TX-J for the input!

I love the tone of Swamp Ash...

I have a few Alder and Basswood guitars and they don't even come close...

I always loved the look of the Medleys. I was disappointed when I heard the company went out of business. I would have bought one!

I'd love a Medley, or one of those Tele's!

There was another all black Medley on Craigslist when this thread was made too. I love those things, pretty much the guitar for me. I was looking at getting one a while back when realized they are out of business, Xbolt your collection is sick as fuck.
Love your green one too shredmonster, daayum.

Personally I think he is asking a bit too much for it.

Honestly, I think if the economy picks back up they may come back. From what I have heard they just ceased production because of lagging sales and put the machinery in a warehouse.
No bankruptcy or anything like that...they could come back I believe.

That Green quilt you got Xbolt is awesome. I wish there were more strat/Dinky shaped guitars that come 1 hum 1 single like that!

Yeah i love the look of a 1 hum and forward slant single like that, seems tho a backward slant would be better for sound tho - for tighter/brighter bass notes and still sweet highs at the neck.
