  • PB Player guitars

I was looking at some pictures of Jan Kuehnemund (Becuase I'm still in love with her after all these years lol) and found several of her playing a PB Player Rhoads copy.

Looking at the pictures (which are scans from photos taken A LONG time ago) the guitar looks like it could be decent or a complete piece of shit. The inlays look like Moto and kind of rounded sharkys,

Anyway I was just curious, if anyone had experience with that model and how well it may have played? I wouldn't go looking for one, but it's still kind of interesting to see the different brands that tried to cash in on Jackson.

How were PB Players in general? I had a chance (this was 90 or 91) to buy one used and got something else. I've always been curious if I passed up on a deal or not.
In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil

    JB
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

^Right - they're JB Players. My first guitar, back in 87, was a JB Player strat. I have no idea where it fell in their model line-up, but it was probably at or near the bottom since it was a starter guitar. As for playability, I thought the 84 Gibson Explorer which replaced it was far superior, if that says anything.

Just remember "Jan's Boobs" and it's all good

And their top model had a built-in wireless unit and came with a receiver. Their average models were decent, I guess. About like anything else at the time.
