I read an interview in a French magazine 2 or 3 years ago, and Kirk talked about his Randy Rhoads. He told in this interview that he wanted to get a deal with Jackson, but Jackson showed according to Kirk disinterest. Then he get his ESP with Jackson headstock.
What do you mean, "I don't believe in God"? I talk to him every day.
And yeah they just picked up chris broderick, who is an outstanding guitar player, but I don't even think megadeth is a relevent band to most people anymore unless they're trying to appeal to a specific group of people in their mid 30s to 40s who already know jackson is the shit cos they watched almost any music video on mtv in the 80s, so I wouldn't call it a great marketing victory. Regardless, im happy to have him on the J/C team. Lol
I think it is. You got all these little kiddies out there who loved his "Betcha Can't Play This" video, and watch all of his videos with sweeping, (not a good player unless yoou use it), and now hee's playing a Jackson.
i got a ESp M-ii Ctm Std, and it is a great guitar, and my current number one guitar to play (my other guitar being a DKMG). over my older brother has a KV2 and the KV2 is better, you pick up the KV2 and you can just feel that the quality is that bit better. although i love my ESp m-ii and always will, great guitar. it will become my number two guitar though when i finally get my USA warrior CS.
Jackson Charvel should try harder to promote their guitars, because these brands make the real guitars.Iron Maiden used them too.I think that many players who used in the early days of their band years such products will return one day back and play them again (Scott Ian and David Ellefson did) and the ones who haven't discovered the magic of these guitars one day they will and they will like it for sure. It's a pity when you see the artists Charvel and Jackson got ,it's nothing compared to ESP
how 'bout the story of Children of Bodom...all of Alexi's jackson guitars got stolen and Jackson wanted him to wait 7 months before building new guitars for him and so he went to ESP.
and got the closest knockoff of a Rhoads he could get without causing ESP to get sued

So his money was not worth more then that of people like you and me, gotta say: shows some character from Jackson
"There's nothing taking away from the pure masculinity I possess"

He wasn't endorsed by Jackson, though. He might have had some deal with a Finnish distributor, but he did not have a deal with Jackson.
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.
Scott used Jackson in the early '80s, then he and Frank Bello were endorsed by ESP. Scott then was endorsed by Jackson for awhile, then he got a Randall amp endorsement, which is also part of Washburn, then had a Washburn endorsement for a bried period. Now he's back with Jackson.
it also helped ESP that they had artist discounts back in the day, even if you were not an endorsee or a huge name. When i bought my M1 custom (the neck thru with the huge bevel in the cutaway)and Phoenix back in 87ish, NEW the M1 was $450 with case, the Phoenix $550, at that time a jackson soloist custom was $1100. as a 14 Y/O kid who mowed lawns for $ you could see the obvious choice. They were really nice guitars, and played great, granted they didnt have duncans of real OFRs but for the price they couldn't be beat. I wish i still had those ESPs hell those old ESPs sell for more now than when they were brand new.
ESP started as a parts supplier, they made parts for other guitars and companies, so making guitars that were copies of other brands was only natural. so did almost every import company. ibanez, tokai, aria, fernanddez, greco, ETC ETC, not an original idea in the bunch. it just happened that ESP was marketed better than the rest.
I'm new here and definitely a Charvel/Jackson fan, but I really don't get all the fuss about ESP. I've had my 750xl since new and I'll never give it up, but my stepchild is a Korean ESP PB-500 and it's been entirely impressive (not a very popular model, so maybe its not like other ESPs?)
I was helping a friend choose a guitar a couple of months ago. I had pretty much persuaded him to buy a used Jackson (his budget was $300-$400). We went into the local Guitar Center to try out a JS series Dinky just to see if he liked the basic feel of it. All three of those we tried were disappointing: really poor setup on one, broken locking nut on another, unstable tuning on the third. Although I love my soloist, I couldn't very well look him in the eye and tell him that the more expensive Dinkys were so much better (having no experience of them myself). As luck would have it, there was a used ESP Deluxe in there for $400; mahogany body, maple cap, original floyd rose, EMG pickups. It's a really nice guitar. He bought it, and he's very happy with it. It's actually given me GAS for an ESP-equipped guitar myself.

Or maybe it's just that I'd rather bash Pauls and Strats since they are about as interesting and original as reality TV
I have a PB-401...pretty much the same guitar as a PB-5000 except made in Indonesia. That is one impressive guitar. Just wish it had neck specs closer to a Jackson and also wish it was a bit lighter (it's about 9.5 pounds). Anyway, just wanted to chime in as I don't hear many folks talk about those guitars.
