If it has push-pull pots it could have at least a dozen different pup configurations. It should be solid tone wood, too. The trem is most likely the weak point. You can find it here: http://www.westone.info/indexguitars.html I wouldn't pay over $200 for it...

I had one and they are well made like any Jap westone. The trem is not very solid you can swap it out for an OFR.The stud spacing is the same.
I wouldn't trade a model 6 for it Just sayin not anywhere near the guitar a model 6 is.

Haven't seen one of those since the 80's lol, pretty cool. Since Trussrod posted that link i was able to find what my Westone was from 85/86, looks like mine was a spectrum fx.
It was like my second guitar so to me it seemed pretty wicked

Stray the stud spacing is the same but on SOME westones and ESP/BC Riches with that trem...there is not enough clearance in the route for the arm collar on an OFR...I just went through this with both an NYC ESP Body and a no name westone. Just an FYI

One of Matsumoko's best. Nice guitar, but nowhere near a Model 6 IMO.

            Maybe a 3 or 4, or a 1, or a later script-logo bolt-on.

The person who compiled all of the info on the Westone site actually took it down about six months back because sellers kept posting links to it on eBay. Folks on the Electra board were able to convince him to pass the site on to a new caretaker. Good thing he agreed--there's a lot of info there...

Len as long as you get cash I guess its OK.You get a hard case with it?
I know where another one is if you want it.I can check to see if its still in the store. They have an Aria ZZ as well.
I did an OFR swap on a BC rich with no problem it had the same trem.BTW a JT-6 fits too try that.Smaller trem collar.

Do they have serial number info in there?

I tried one at my local music store, actually I still think they have it. 2 years with no buyer!

But in all seriousness, I found the shape to be a bit uncomfortable, although interesting, the tremolo didn't feel "right" in terms of feel, didn't tune well with the Kahler-esque lock nut, but IIRC the neck wasn't too bad.

I can't comment on the sound though, they weren't original pickups.

Westone made some nice high end guitars as well as entry level.Very worthy guitars IMO.

There's a paragraph that explains the serial number system in the FAQ section of the website: http://www.westone.info/faq.html
