  • Mayones Guitars- Another Guitar Brand question

I know I ask a lot but I am still looking for baritone, 7 string and 8 string guitars makers. Since Jackson does not make any USA Select versions right now, custom shop models take a while and idk if I want another Ibanez, I still have to look.

So does any one have experience with Mayones guitars? I am liking their Regius model a lot, might be wanting a 7 string version of it.

all i know is that they are expensive and look cool....
    GEAR:

some guitars...WITH STRINGS!!!! most of them have those sticks like on guitar hero....AWESOME!!!!

some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!

    and finally....

i have those little plastic "chips" used to hit the strings...WHOA!!!!

Have you looked into Agile guitars? They make baritone, 7 & 8 string guitars. Reasonably priced. Rondo Music reps them here in the US. Kurt at Rondo is a good guy. The guitars are made overseas but their quality is really good. Rondo usually inspects most of them before they go out the door. Also, there are certain times of the year he'll take custom shop orders.

Having been a member of Sevenstring.org and seeing some Agiles come through idk if I have the confidence buying from them with some of the issues I have seen. I am also kind of a snob in that most guitars I buy are USA/ Japan/ Canadian/ European made.

I've owned them before and still own an 8-string. One Agile had an issue. Kurt took it back and rectified the problem with a replacement. Every person's experience with a vendor/brand is different. I know JCFers who had issues with Jackson Custom Shops. It happens. It's easier to take a risk on a lower-priced guitar than say one in the thousands. Mayones falls into the thousands so fewer people have taken a risk on them.

Cool guitars for sure. Though I always chuckle at guitars named after a sandwich condiment. :-)

True, every guitar company has its lemons that come out, just a fact of life.

Still, having play my friend', Agile interceptor 7 string, while it was decent, I guess it was just not my thing. Different strokes for different folks, that is why I ask a lot of people's opinions on stuff.
