  • Cool original BCR ST III

    Found this out pawn shopping.
All the original wiring and metal back plates plus square input jack plate.
    Original case with allen wrenches.
    Sick playing neck too.
I was going in to pick up a Squier classic vibe strat I had been eying for a week or so at $275.00 but this for $150.00 out the door was too good a deal to pass up.

    Really? well screw Mark Twain.

That's a great score. I've owned four different STIII's, and never found one that cheap. They are really good guitars.

I have had 4 or 5 of these over the years and all were very good guitars.

How is it for a Class Axe era one? I have never laid my hands on any ST except the neck thru I used to have. It was versatile and sounded good but was uninspiring to play.

Hard to say with dead strings and me out of 9's at the moment.Sounds and plays fine new strings and it would sound better.
Neck pick up is working about half way so need to figure out why.A good cleaning is needed but seems like a very nice guitar very chimey bridge pick up no markings on the base plate but two rows of adj poles so I'm thinking Schaller of some sort which is what they used on a lot of the STIII's
Gotoh trem which again is normal for these.Should be a fine guitar all cleaned up.

Turned out it was a bad toggle for the neck pick up so fixed that and sounds pretty damn good now even with the old strings on it but will hit GC tomorrow and get a bunch to have in stock.
250k pots in it so maybe go with 300k or 500k just to open it up some also have a couple Mallory and Sprauge orange drop caps laying around too.May as well upgrade the electronics and get it right.
Great guitar for silly cheap I'm happy!

Got the 500k pots today and will use an orange drop 047 cap,so should wake up the pick ups.
New strings and electronics should make this one sing.

Are you sure about the pickups? I thought these were DiMarzio's.

Hope to hear more about this one as I come across these often in the pawn shops around here.

There's one at Sam Ash in Nashville in Ferrari red. It's been there since (at least) Jan 2010 because they won't budge on the $449 sticker. Includes case. Edge trem, Made in USA. Plays good / sounds good.

@Coloradoman25, what is it that makes you think this guitar is a Class Axe era one, it isn't
