  • Explorer is finally complete

I just got the electronics for my 84 explorer yesterday and I finished her off. Super light, loaded with a pair of Gibson humbuckers. You can't ask for anything more, well I can't....

      Very nice!
How is the balance on this one for you?

        Thanx Guys.

Regarding the balance, the strap buttons go on tonight. I'm not sure if I'm gonna leave the original button location by the neck or move it behind the body like my other exploreres.

That's gorgeous Rocker. Is that a full-size Explorer?

Very cool. I'm always put off by the painted sticky neck syndrome that these usually suffer from. You've got that problem licked!

Can somebody please donate a gold pickup cover for the neck pup?

I actually have an aged pair of gold covers. Didn't think of putting them on as I would have to age everything else.

I kinda like it how it is. Sort of a hot rod appeal. Plus the gold poles are sexy on the neck.

Looks great, Pete! I didn't realize those had maple necks. Is the body mahogany?

I noticed that too. I'm pretty sure the neck on my pals 76' RI is mahogany.

Looks great Pete. I'm working on a Gibson Spirit XPL. It's kinda got the same vibe going. I'll have to post pics when I get it up and running. I would have never thought gold went with blue, but that looks real sharp.

Must have never seen a Subaru STi in blue with factory gold BBS wheels
