  • Benford Super Strat Koa #3 finished! (warning pic heavy)

I thought I would start a new thread since its no longer a project and its a Benford Super strat!

    Specs are;
Bookmatched Koa body with 10A quilted Koa top ( I had this board laying around for about 8 years )
    Black Anigre contrast stripe
    Carved top
1 piece Brazilian Rosewood neck ( I found this for the sole purpose of this project. It was cut down in the mid fifties Pre CITES )
    Brazilian Rosewood fretboard
    Anigre and rosewood binding
    Offset Abalone dots
    Matching Koa headstock
    Alaboneque logo
    Rosewood trussrod cover
    Setneck
    Neckthru style neck joint
    Bareknuckle Miracle Man bridge pickup
    Fernandes Sustainer neck PU
    Countersunk controls
    Countersunk Dunlop straplocks
    Electrosocket jackcup
    Tonepros tune-o-matic bridge, countersunk
    Strings through the body
    Grover 505 locking tuners
    Graphtech Tusq nut
    25.5 scale, 22 fret

It came out awesome! Better than I could have hoped for. I've had it for more than a week and it plays like butter.

    On to the pics.

Too bad your koa didn't go to 11A, it's the only thing holding it back.

That looks like a real nice guitar. I would be awful temped to somehow clear over the (what appears to be) sharpie serial number.

Fantastic! I still really like the contrasting black stripe between the top and body. Such a nice looking guitar. Enjoy!

You are right, everything is better on eleven!

Yeah, I will have to see how that wears. I am not too concerned as the serial number is not very important to me. I have a CS Jackson with none so this one is starting off better already.

Thanks guys! My first sustainer. Its taking a little getting used to. I still wished the activating switch could have been a larger style instead of the mini, but I am getting there. It is a ton of fun though. Makes me play stuff I didn't even know I knew, which is my tell tale sign of a great guitar for me. Totally inspiring.

The top is amazing. What is the rosewood neck like tonewise?
I feel festive all year round. Deal with it.

Wowsers. I'm not in love with the headstock shape still but that's nitpicking when the overall effect is as good as this.
Congratulations and good choice of hardware. I bet it sings like an FBI informant.
All men play on 10. Never gonna turn down again.
