  • NGD!! Time for a little change up...

I have been looking for a Les Paulish guitar for awhile. Found a guy wanting to trade for my Ibanez RG370DX.

For this Epiphone Les Paul Standard:
Needs a good cleaning and some fresh strings, but loving it so far. Flame is amazing!!

Thanks! Been getting the basics done today: frets polished, board conditioned, pics of all items for records.
I am unsure what the pickups are right now. They are very smooth when needed and crunchy when I am ripping on it.
Learning more over on the Gibson boards. Other then some scratchy tone pots, it is FLAWLESS. Please feel free to share your experiences on theaftermarket parts side.

Great looking guitar. I have 2 friends that each have an Epi Les paul. both of them are damn nice guitars. LPs arent my style, but I will say those Epis are damn well built. lots of quality workmanship in them. the value factor is really high on them. I have played them next to Gibson LPs and there just is not enough difference in them to justify the Gibsons being 5 times the price of the epis. damn good trade and a nice guitar! congrats!!!

Awesome. I just recently acquired 2 Epi LPs. A Standard plus top in trans blue and a black LPC. Ive been playing the LPC exclusively since then, cant put it away. The standard will have to wait a couple weeks before I can really start digging into it, its technically a christmas present. Theyre great players. Enjoy the hell out of it.

As far as pots and caps rsguitarwoks.net
Also Martin Six String offer great up grade kits.
AFAIK those are Epi's version of the 57's nice pick ups Same ones you get in the Epi dots.
One thing to look for is if there is a gap on the treble side of the body where the neck is glued in some have the gap some don't.

Thanks Straycat. I was of rsguitarworks, but will check the other.
                      Pickups are great for me.
I checked into the gap thing, didn't see any problems:
                      bottom

                      back

The gap I was talking about is in the neck pick up cavity.Sorry I wasn't to clear on that.
