  • Glenn Tipton strat

ive seen plenty of Dave Murray replica strats, how come no love for Glenn Tipton's black strat. I think Im going to make a GT tribute kind of strat. & a big hell no on the kahler, i hate those things.

Tipton is so amazing, never gets much love on the lists, but what a player.

Glenn's a great player and a humble guy. Always have enjoyed seeing him play.

He makes a Kahler work just fine so to put anything else on it would not be right.

I'll tell you why Glen never got a signature strat. He isn't known for playing one.
Same reason Eric Clapton doesn't have a signature SG. Uli Jon Roth doesn't have a signature strat either. Most people know him for his sky guitar.
BTW... Glen Tipton pulled off some of the greatest metal guitar licks of all time. Love the guy.

He had a Hamer signature "strat" which I thought this thread was about.

Thats not the guitar he is known for. He is known as a Hamer player but not that one.

                            That would be this abomination:

I always thought Glenn Tipton's guitars were goofy and KK played all the cool axes.

Going way, way back, Glen played the SG and fender strat a bit, both with the mirrored pick guards I think. Then the hamers took over eventually.
