Thick necks on shreddy guitars

dont know if they are shreddy but old PRE-83 BCRiches had thick necks. like gibson 50's round profile necks.

I don't think it's just the old ones, I played a fairly new Beast and the neck was pretty chunky front to back.

USA made Hamer Chaparral's have beefy mahogany set necks, 24 3/4" scale.
