  • Help ID'ing bodies

Looking for the next thing to keep me out of the kitchen last week, I asked my local repair shop if they had any old bodies lying around that they might want to get rid of. I walked out with these. Pretty sure the red one is a Charvel or Jackson of some sort based on the circular contour around the neck joint on the back. I don't have any guesses at all on the blue one. Can any of you guys help me figure out what these are? Thanks much!

The red body could be a Fusion or a Dinky IMO..
Have a look at this Fusion body on ebay
The upper horn is a different size?? BUT You never know?

No idea on the blue body??
      Good Luck on your score..

IDK the red one looks like it could a 475 deluxe body. The contours remind me of the old models series guitars and the blue one reminds me of a Charvette single locking. I haven't seen any Charbette's in a long time so I may be wrong.

Hey, thanks for the leads WRC and 84sups. Twitch,-plenty of finger prints, no dental impressions that I've spotted so far. The red one DOES look a lot like the 475's I see in pix online. And the blue one actually looks way close to the HS fusions I'm seeing except that the HS fusions seem to have the one control knob in a slightly different location, inline with and just forward of the switch whereas on my body the knob is offset from the switch like on the HH fusions. There's enough 2nd gen paint, dings, obviously deliberate neck joint gouges, etc going on with these that restoration to whatever they were to begin with is hardly worth the effort and expense. Ultimately, these are whatever they are and at best end up to be decent salvaged parts players. Time to check out the classified posts. : ) Thanks again guys for bothering to follow the photo link. I gotta figure out how to make it so the pic is just there when you click on the thread instead of just inserting the link.

Hey there DeathTrashAttack. I live in Gilbert. I got the bodies at Precision Guitar on 7th Ave. in Phx. I happened to be in there looking for a whammy bar, found it, the guy asked if there was anything else I was looking for. I told him "well, do you have any old bodies you want to get rid of?" Walked out with these $15 & $20. Its pretty much a repair shop rather than a retail place and I think I probably cleaned them out of project bodies for now. A good place though with a good reputation.

                  Precision has been around forever.
More than a "repair shop". These guys are some of the best in the valley at repair/mods/upgrades, you name it.
