Anybody own a Burny les Paul

Anybody own an old burny les Paul? I've always been curious about their sound.

Here's a picture of one I used to have. It's a mid 80's Japanese model with the synthetic fingerboard. It plays and feels great. Wish I still had it, but I sold it a co-worker for his son. Keep Rockin!!!

I think you're gonna pay only slightly less for a Japanese made Burny as for a Gibby LP. Keep that in mind.

Really? Has the Japanese "copy" market pricing for these guitars increased that much over the past 5 years? Might as well just get a Gibby then.

Yes go check them out Ebay and other places. The older ones made in Japan bring real coin if it's in very good shape. Still less than a Gibby not by a ton. Even new ones which are made by Fernandes in Asia and not Japan are over $1,000 shipped.

As a follow-up, I think the reason is 1. Japanese-made guitars are normally higher in demand and 2. the older Burny's that were MIJ and part of the 'lawsuit' LP copy era have led to higher prices on Burny's, Tokai and others.

Well for $ 1000 the only Gibson you can get is a studio, and a les Paul studio is really nothin special.

Oh, my bad that was the 70's right? I heard government workers would track the guitar down and break the headstocks off on spot.
