Don't have it yet. I've heard the same. My buddy owned one, said they are heavy and thick but very comfortable. This is mostly investment and eye candy, will be played sparingly.

The necks tend to be wide but not too chunky.GL used and R2 nut so it looks odd having part of the shelf showing.
I saw one 4 months ago on my local CL and I called about it to find out he sold it for $750.00.
One hung on the wall at Sam Ash in Columbus Ohio at $1000.00 for a year or so and they told me it went for $875.00.
Great guitars and worth what you payed for it no question.
Guitars like that will come back in time so I would keep it and make a buck when the time is right.
      Really? well screw Mark Twain.

That might have been the LTD version of the guitar....there is NO CHANCE an ESP Sunburst Tiger sold for $750 unless it was completely trashed...the LTD Tiger version, yes, that's about right 700-800

Really? That's odd. I don't doubt you, I just recall George talking about his gear on his ancient "Guitar Bible" instructional vid, and he talks about how he likes his necks wide and thin (and unfinished with the usual extra jumbo frets for vibrato).

He apparently has big hands and I've heard the necks on these are bigger, whether that means deep or wide or both, I am not sure. I will find out.

No joke. His pinky finger is as long as his ring finger almost, bastard. Took me ages to get that stretch down where I could do the 12-15-19/20 hammer-on/pull-off from the solo to "In My Dreams."

I look forward to hearing about it when you get it!

Oh, it burns. Especially when you stretch to 20. Sometimes I'll just tap it with my right hand when I'm playing around, but it just looks cooler doing it one-handed.

BTW, found this. Might be of interest:

The primary guitars used on the recording of the new Lynch Mob “Smoke And Mirrors” album were George’s original yellow Bengal tiger striped strat guitar and his ESP “Skulls & Snakes” guitar (affectionately named “Haji”). The yellow tiger guitar, which has weathered almost thirty years of live performances and touring has a severly checked (cracked) nitrocellulose finish on the body and is riddled with nicks and dings…character as most people would call it. The tiger’s body is a solid one-piece maple body and is super heavy to lift (total guitar weight is over 9 lbs.). It features a single humbucker which currently is one of the prototypes of the Lynch signature series Super V models made by Seymour Duncan. The Floyd Rose is mounted old-style; top mounted (non-recessed) and smoothly floats on the original wood screw pivot screws. There have been several necks mounted to this weighty beast over the past 30 yrs., the last one having been in use since 1984 and was a solid single-piece maple strat neck. That neck eventually twisted in 2005 and was retired to being a wall hanging in the office of ESP Guitar’s president, Matt Masciandaro. The current neck, fashioned by ESP in 2005, has a double hooked headstock and features a rosewood fretboard and Dunlop jumbo 6100 frets with a 17” flat radius.
I'm curious to see how yours compares, beautiful guitar in any case.

Yeah the yellow tiger seems to be his number 1 in most instances. I can't believe he's doing another Lynch Mob record. I guess whatever makes him happy. I love George and his guitars but I think he's to the point now that he's put as much bad material IMO as he has good, the vast majority of the good being the Dokken days. The first LM album was OK, not great, but it got progressively worse as time went on.

I was just telling you what I had seen here lately no need to say I don't know the difference between an ESP and LTD.
I have been doing the guitar thing (buy sell trade) for a very long time.
The GL ESP's I have had the narrower nuts.Just sayin.Found it odd at first but they played great.

Smoke and Mirrors, which came out in '09 I believe, was actually decent. More blues oriented than Wicked Sensation, but worth a listen. He also did a 'solo' album this year called Kill All Control that had some tasty licks on it. I saw Lynch Mob in February and they sounded pretty damned good. Sadly, Oni Logan left the band again in August.

He is doing a project with Pilson and Brown called "Tooth and Nail" that I'm looking forward to. I don't expect him to ever exceed his prime (which to me was '87-'93), but I wouldn't be surprised to see some good come out of it.

Let us never discuss 'Smoke This' though. ;p

Ooops. Well I haven't kept up Lynch Mob. Lots of turnover in members, but I'm sure a good live show. It would seem he's still bickering with Don Dokken so maybe nothing on the horizon with a reunion. I do have Dokken's latest studio album which I actually listened to this morning. Pretty strong material with Levin on guitar.

OK, cool. Well I've never seen a real ESP Tiger go 1,000 or less and I'm in the market all the time. 750 sounds insane and not possible - unless a cracked headstock or some major flaw. The ESP forum members have multiple comments like 'smoking deal', 'killer deal', etc., etc. Based on my experience 1,100 for a near mint ESP tiger is a great deal. Most I've seen sell 1,200 on the low end to 1,500 on the higher end. $1300-1400 average. Consider also that the Lynch LTD guitars, like the serpent, LTD Tigers, Snakes and Skulls sell in the 600-800 area depending on the model. The very low end, like the Gl256, which isn't a big seller still runs about 400-500.

Eh, reading what I have of the Dokken history, I don't blame him for still feuding with Don. Hell, even Mick backs up George's version of things and he still plays in Dokken. Don just strikes me, whenever I see him, as a prick. And since his voice is completely blown now, he's got nothing to back his ego up.

Levin is a very capable guitarist, even George freely admits that, but he honestly strikes me as a limited Lynch clone. Plus, his takes on the old solos on their "Greatest Hits 2" album didn't work for me. LSA was a decent album though, definitely their best in ages.
