its listed on eBay now too. Its a cool part of history, the documentation and misc paper work was pretty cool, especially where Les Paul was not too keen on making a deal with Gibson. I don't what the actual guitar is worth really as I don't like SG's or care for them

ebay says "Pick Ups Are In Good Shape/Pick Up Covers Had Been Removed At Some Point" so that would seem to mean they are the original pups minus covers

Not being argumentative bud, just saying that from the way they worded it they make it sound like it still has the original pickups but the covers were removed. One would think if the original pickups were gone they would be required to say so but I guess word play leaves people to wonder and perhaps call them or come in to the shop to check. You know much more than I do my friend. I learn something new from you and many others here everyday.

Saw that episode... yeah dude was very disappointed.

From the description looks like maybe the whole segment was a setup...

Wow, my memory is way messed up. It was 25k that the 'staged' seller wanted not 40k. Sorry bros. Interesting if you follow the comments link regarding the staging of the show with friends, actors, etc.

Don't know why it would be worth so much, I don't recall Mary Ford being much of an axe slinger on the albums. And Les divorced her in 1962 too. It was probably never touched by his hands haha.

Although I agree with you, some people would indeed pay alot for one that had been owned by Les Paul's wife. The same kind of people that buy a Harley and leave it parked in the garage barely if ever ridden. More of a status symbol than anything actually used by them. You know, those people with more money than sense.

Wait until they find one of the three Gibson Moderne's that just might be floating around.
