Cool. I wonder if anyone else scored an Ibeenhad recently?
Oh, and for us Ibeenhad newbies, can you please say what the heck it is and what year and where it was made?
I'm guessing those are the original pickups. Would they have been the same pickups mine came with?
I'm trying to wade thru jemsite, but not getting very far.Last edited by DonP; 01-31-2012, 09:09 AM.

Hey DonP, if yours is a 1990 then the pickups would have been:
Neck: IBZ V1
Middle: IBZ S1
Bridge: IBZ V2
This page is about the late 2017 RG550 reissue. For other RG550 models, see RG550 (disambiguation). The RG550 is an RG series solid body electric guitar model reissued by Ibanez in 2017. This model is a reissue of the original RG550, which was produced between 1987 and 1994. Similarities to the classic RG550 include a basswood body, a tilt neck joint with a stamped metal plate, a maple fingerboard with dot position markers and an original Edge double locking tremolo bridge with a locking nut. this ones a 98...i've got a 92 stripped to bare wood with the same v pickups yours has in it...and honestly i like the pickups in this one better...little warmer and more midrange not as much harshness...the necks on them are both very different...my 92 has an ultra thin neck and this one has a little more wood to it...not much...but more like the jems...i also have a 92 saber 450 (very hard to find) with the same v pickups and the mahogany body makes quite a tonal difference...all of mine have rosewood fingerboards as i thats what i prefer (and why i dont have a 550...lol)...i would imagine your 92 has the ultra thin neck as well making it a prime candidate for shredding...i saw your post...if you like the neck then yes these guitars are pretty much as good as anything out there and i really think the edge is on par with a real floyd rose...most i have seen people have modded with different pickups (something i'll prob do to my stripped one) but ive never heard of anyone complaining about the necks or other hardware (besides the fact that cosmo black tends to oxidize pretty easily)...so yeah you got a good one i believe...now stop reading this and go play it...lol...d.m.
