  • NGD! Black Limba Carvin. Yes you read that right.

I know jackson is the main focus here but I just had to share this. Its a very unique carvin that the nice guys in Cali just finished up for me. I seriously started jumping up and down like a little girl when I opened the case.

    Specs:

    CT624 C floyd rose guitar
    Option 50 black limba body
    Quilted top
    DTS purple
    Holdsworth headstock
    Ebony fretboard
    Abalone diamond inlays
    single volume, no tone
    c22b & J zebra w/ cream rings
    pearl sperzel buttons
    abalone knob
    black hardware
    standard case

I also ordered a cream TRC yet to install. Anyway its simply stunning and no more words.

Beautiful guitar. An excellent choice I must admit. Now take that rug, make some pants out of it and join an 80's cover band.

I like it, too bad it's a set neck and not a neckthrough, but for me that just makes it a 9.75 out of 10. A 1/4 point deduction for the neck joint!

Thanks guys. I was worried about this build. Carvin usually has some really killer wood. But every now and then you will see them put a top on a guitar that just makes you scratch your head. I had an image in my mind of what I wanted it to look like and I had an image of an epic fail. I tell no lie when I say that the guitar actually came out better than I had hoped. I was very nervous opening the case. Then when I saw what they picked for the top and the the back I literally started jumping up and down yelling "they knocked it out of the park!" over and over again. I still will open the case and simply shake my head in disbelief. Carvins are always nice guitars IMO but this is a one of a kind. And I can only imagine how much this would have cost me from anyone else. It wasnt cheap mind you but it was definitely less than a PRS, or other higher end production guitar.

Carvin puts out damn nice stuff at a fraction of what the other custom shops charge.
